Since the Club’s inception in 1904, its members have lavished praise upon their entertainment peers, though not solely through Roasts. Testimonials Dinners and Honorary Luncheons are just a few of the ways Friars express their gratitude to their brethren in the arts and humanities.

The evenings always host a broad diversity of entertainment in addition to comedy, while raising money for charity. From George M. Cohan and Irving Berlin, down through the years, the greatest of the greats have shared in these esteemed accolades– Jack Benny, George Jessel, George Burns & Walter Matthau, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, Barbra Streisand, Carol Burnett, Elizabeth Taylor, Dr. Henry Kissinger, Walter Cronkite, Kirk Douglas, Neil Simon, Barbara Walters, Burt Reynolds, Diana Ross, Roger Moore, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, and Larry King, among many others, have been saluted by their fellow Friars. And there are many more to come.
